Anti-Crime / Narcotics Unit

Illegal narcotics and the crimes related to the use and distribution of narcotics directly affects the quality of life in our community. It is well-documented that the use or sale of narcotics leads to other crimes such as burglary, shoplifting, robberies, etc. The Fort Lee Police Department fully recognizes this and as such has designated the distribution of narcotics and related crimes a priority.

Creating the Unit

In 2012, the Chief of Police created an Anti-Crime / Narcotics Unit comprised of Detectives that are designated to narcotics and narcotics-related crimes. The goal of this unit is to decrease overall criminal activity through proactively investigating the distribution of narcotics, as well as proactively patrolling the streets in an undercover capacity and stopping crimes as they occur, therefore enhancing the quality of life for all of our residents.

Working with Other Departments

The Fort Lee Anti-Crime / Narcotics Unit works closely with surrounding municipalities as well as the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, New Jersey State Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. We encourage concerned citizens to contact the Anti-Crime / Narcotics Unit with any tips they may have concerning criminal activity in their neighborhood.
