The Fort Lee Volunteer Fire Department is committed to the preservation of life and property for those who live, work and visit the Borough of Fort Lee; and to utilize the highest standards of education and training permitting all of the firefighters to execute their duties with professionalism and dedication; and to uphold the highest tradition of the fire service.

Serving the community for over 125 years, the Fort Lee Volunteer Fire Department is a volunteer department that is made up of 4 fire companies which is made up of over 100 men and women, who are on call around the clock 365 days a year. 

The Fort Lee Fire Department provides protection to over 35,000 residents. The Borough is comprised of residential homes, high rises, hotels and various commercial establishments, which brings the daytime population of Fort Lee to over 100,000 people. Fort Lee New Jersey is located in northern Bergen County at the entrance to the George Washington Bridge. 

The department operates out of four firehouses covering each section of town from East to West and North to South.
