Garage sale permits are available in the Office of the Borough Clerk. Permits cost $10.00 and may be used for up to three consecutive days. The operating times for a garage sale are between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m
There is a limit of two permits per household per calendar year, and signs may be placed on one's own property only - you may not post signs in any public place, including on telephone poles and trees.

GARAGE SALES
§ 228-1. Definitions.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
GARAGE SALE - Includes but shall not be limited to the sale of merchandise to the public in residential zones, which merchandise is on display anywhere in or upon said residential premises.
§ 228-2. Permit required; fee.
No garage sale shall be held or conducted without first obtaining a permit for same from the Borough Clerk’s office. A fee of $10 dollars shall be charged for each permit issued.
§ 228-3. Number of permits.
No more than two permits shall be issued per premises per year.
§ 228-4. Number of days.
Each permit shall be issued for no more than three days.
§ 228-5. Hours of operation.
Hours of operation for a garage sale shall begin no earlier than 9:00 a.m. and shall end no later than 6:00 p.m.
§ 228-6. Extension of permit.
A permit may be extended by the Borough Clerk's office in the case of rain.
§ 228-7. Initial violation; violations and penalties.
A. In the event of violation of this chapter, to wit, the conducting of a garage sale without a permit, the enforcing agency shall issue a written warning for the first offense.
B. Thereafter, subsequent offenses shall be treated according to general penalty sections.*

§ 410-49. Certain signs prohibited.
(A) . . . Garage sale signs shall be prohibited, other than when located on one's own property and only after issuance of a permit allowing such garage sale.
