PLEASE BE ADVISED that the regular public meeting of the Fort Lee Planning Board scheduled for Monday, April 24, 2017 at 7:30 P.M. is being canceled due to lack of agenda. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Thursday, April 20, 2017 Work Session of the Fort Lee Mayor and Council has been cancelled due to a lack of an agenda. The next regularly scheduled work session meeting of the Mayor and Council will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Conference Room, Memorial Municipal Building, 309 Main Street, Fort Lee, New Jersey. A copy of the agenda for the May 4th meeting will be made available to the public on Wednesday, May 3rd by 12:00 noon.

Fringe Fest 2017

Fringe Fests started in 1947 in Edinburgh, Scotland, as an alternative festival that played concurrently with the Edinburgh International Festival. In 1948, Robert Kemp, a local journalist, gave it the name Fringe: "Round the fringe of official Festival drama, there seems to be more private enterprise than before..." Fringe performing arts festivals can now be found all over the world and, in the United States, the concept has taken hold in cities and towns across the nation.

Venues and dates:

  • Tuesday, May 30th – 7-8pm "Classical Music Extravaganza" performed by Camerata New Jersey at Main Violin, 523 Summit Avenue in West Fort Lee. Hudson Shakespeare Company to perform live work at Coytesville Park on Sixth Street.
  • Wednesday, May 31st Hudson Shakespeare Company to perform live work at iPic park.
  • Thursday, June 1st – Classic Fort Lee Car Show –Columbia Avenue & Abbott Boulevard in The Junction. Palisade section of borough.
  • Friday, June 2nd – live music at park at Hudson Lights / iPic Park lasting no more than one hour per performance – bands to provide their own speakers / sound.
  • Saturday, June 3rd – 1pm–4pm Fort Lee History event at historic Rambo's Hotel building at 2423 First Street in the Coytesville section – picnic in backyard with live music (Dr. Dubious and the Agnostics Dixieland Jazz Band) free to the public and presentation of 2017 Fort Lee Historical Society Sylvia Abbott Award for Historic Preservation to the Fort Lee Housing Authority.

2017 Summer Cruiser Night Classic Car Show

Calling All Vintage Car Owners!
The second annual Fort Lee Classic Car Show / Cruiser Night takes place as part of the Fort Lee Fringe Fest on Thursday, June 1st from 6pm–9pm. Awards will be presented for several categories including the Mayor’s Trophy and the location of the show is the Fort Lee Trolley Junction Business District at the south end of Abbott Boulevard adjacent to Pomodoro Restaurant at 795 Abbott Boulevard. The Borough has scheduled a shredding event for Saturday, May 6, 2017. The event will take place at the Recreation Center, 1500 Stillwell Avenue, between the hours of 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Proof of residency will be required.

Fort Lee now a "Stigma Free" community

The Borough of Fort Lee has proudly passed by resolution to become a "Stigma Free Zone." This was done to raise the importance of Mental Health Awareness.

Stigma-Free Zones aim to inspire public interest and open dialogues about stigma, raise awareness of the disease of mental illness and create a culture wherein residents who have the disease of mental illness feel supported by their community and neighbors and feel free to seek treatment for the disease without fear of stigma.

The 15th annual Fort Lee Arts & Music Festival is set for Sunday, June 4, 2017 on Lemoine Avenue between Main Street and Bruce Reynolds Boulevard. The Borough of Fort Lee Mayor & Council is pleased to offer you and your family/friends a free discount drug card. Simply print the free card below and receive savings of up to 75 percent at over 56,000 pharmacies across the country. This card is especially helpful if you are uninsured or underinsured. However, even if you have insurance, you can still use this card to get a discount on non-covered drugs. All prescriptions processed through the program are completely confidential (no name required on card).

This program also includes discounts on eyeglasses, hearing, diabetic supplies, and more. You can print as many cards as you need. Please feel free to forward this free Prescription Drug Card to your friends and family. This card is pre-activated and can be used immediately.
